Prices in USD from each vendor’s own site, checked October 7, 2026. Searches: US Google searches a month for the product’s name, with the change over 12 months. Score out of 10, by one published formula; nobody pays to be listed.
Two different jobs share this list. Publisher Rocket, KDSpy, BookBeam, Book Bolt and Titans Pro help before launch: which keywords readers type on Amazon, which categories a book could rank in, and how many copies competing books sell. ScribeCount and BookReport help after: they gather your own sales and royalties from KDP and other stores into one dashboard. Few tools do both.
Publisher Rocket ($199) and KDSpy ($79) are one-time purchases; Publisher Rocket’s homepage warns it may move to a yearly subscription. BookBeam, Book Bolt and Titans Pro are subscriptions, with Titans Pro’s free plan as the way to try one. If you publish a few books a year, a one-time tool used at each launch may cost less over time than a monthly one.
Publisher Rocket is a desktop app for Windows, Mac and Chromebook. KDSpy is a browser extension that works on Amazon’s own search and product pages; BookBeam, Book Bolt and Titans Pro add extensions to their web apps.
Before paying, our free tools cover part of the same ground in your browser: the KDP sales calculator turns a Best Sellers Rank into estimated daily and monthly sales, the category finder searches Amazon’s book categories, and the keyword organizer sorts your seven KDP keyword slots. Our guide to Amazon book categories explains how category choice works.
Built for self-published authors, from facts anyone can check: each vendor’s own pages, read on October 7, 2026, and US Google search volumes (Google Ads data via DataForSEO). Nobody pays to be listed, and no score is adjusted by hand. We did not test the apps by writing a book in them; the score measures what they do for an author, what they cost and how widely they are used.
The score is the points earned divided by the points that could be checked, on a 10-point scale. A part with no data (no USD price, no search volume) is left out rather than guessed. How long a product has existed is not scored: few vendors state it. Review sites are not used: for most of these products the profiles rate the whole company or hold a handful of reviews.

The list above ranks them by the Author Score. Publisher Rocket is the best-known one-time option; BookBeam and Book Bolt are subscriptions with a web app and a Chrome extension.
It is a one-time $199 with a 30-day money-back guarantee, and it covers keywords, categories, competitor sales and Amazon Ads keyword lists. Its own page says it may become a yearly subscription.
ScribeCount and BookReport collect sales and royalties from your accounts into one dashboard. KDP’s own reports show Amazon only.
