BookBird is a free website for self-published authors. You can use every tool, template and guide without an account, and the tools do their work in your browser. This page explains the little information that is processed when you visit and how to contact us about it.
What the Tools Do With What You Type
The calculators, generators and checkers run on your device. The words you paste into the readability checker, the numbers you enter into a calculator and the names a generator gives you are not sent to us or to anyone else.
Some tools remember your progress on your own device using your browser's local storage, for example the ticks in the book launch checklist. That information stays in your browser. You can clear it with the tool's reset button or in your browser settings. The same storage remembers whether you subscribed to the newsletter or closed its box, so the site does not ask again.
What Is Processed When You Visit
Like any website, BookBird is delivered by servers that see technical details of each request: your IP address, the page requested, the time, your browser's user agent and the referring page. These are used to deliver the site, keep it secure and fix errors. They are not used to build a profile of you.
The site is delivered through Cloudflare, a content delivery and security network, which processes these request details on our behalf. Cloudflare may set a strictly necessary cookie when it needs to check that a visitor is not an automated attack. Cloudflare's own privacy policy describes how it handles this data.
What We Do Not Do
BookBird does not use analytics trackers, advertising pixels or social media widgets, does not ask you to create an account, and does not sell or rent personal information.
The Newsletter
If you subscribe, we store your email address, the date you subscribed and which form you used in a database on our own server, to send you the newsletter. The newsletter is delivered by Sender (Sender.net), an email service provider, which receives your address to send the emails, record unsubscribes and report whether an email was opened and which links were clicked. Your address is not sold or shared with anyone else. Every email has an unsubscribe link; to have your address deleted from our server and from Sender, write to [email protected].
When You Email Us
If you write to [email protected], we receive your email address and whatever you include in your message. We use it to reply and keep the conversation for as long as it is useful, and we do not add you to any mailing list.
Your Rights
You can ask what information we hold about you, ask us to correct or delete it, or object to its use. Write to [email protected] and we will answer.
Links to Other Websites
Guides and software pages link to other websites, such as Amazon KDP Help or a product's own site. Those sites have their own privacy policies, which apply once you leave BookBird.
Changes
If the way the site handles information changes, this page will be updated. Last updated: October 6, 2026.
